“Do not wait: the time will never be ‘just right’. Start where you stand, and work whatever tools you may have at your command and better tools will be found as you go along.”― Napoleon Hill
I just wanted to do a short, encouraging blog. It is now the year 2020! Put the past behind you and let’s move forward. I can definitely say that after speaking with many people, it seems that the majority of them couldn’t wait for 2019 to be over. I do not know why, but that year seemed to be a “character building year” as I like to now call it after hearing it from someone else on YouTube. Whatever it was that made 2019 quite a year will not stop us from making 2020 our best year yet.
If you want to travel, then travel. If you want to go, then just. If you want to just be, then just be. Do not wait for the perfect time, the perfect moment, the perfect setting or the perfect partner. Just get up and go already. Think about how many times you have stopped yourself from going somewhere or doing something just because it wasn’t exactly how you wanted it. Go ahead, list those times down so that you can see them on paper. Now, go ahead and write down times that you have waited for the perfect whatever and compare them. Were they money related, a desire not to feel lonely or what?
I used to hold off on going certain places for awhile and, at the time, the excuses seemed quite legitimate. It wasn’t until I moved away from those areas that it hit me that I more than likely wouldn’t be visiting there for awhile and that I’d wasted countless opportunities. Don’t get me wrong, I am not afraid to go places by myself, but some destinations… I don’t know, I guess I just wanted the time that I went to be extra special or something. I went from regretting those decisions to now using them as a life lesson. My advice to you is just to get up and go. Go and try new places, new adventures, new restaurants. You will not look like a loner. On the contrary, you will look like a self-confident, self-motivated person who is very comfortable enjoying their own company. If you aren’t able to be happy on your own, how will you be able to be happy with someone(s) else?
I hope 2020 is your best year yet, truly. Never give up on your dreams or goals. Go for broke, you’ve got this! Stay strong, get up and go and Happy New Year!
